Acreichthys tomentosus és una espècie de peix de la família dels monacàntids i de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.[2]

Morfologia

  • Els mascles poden assolir 12 cm de longitud total.[3][4]

Reproducció

És ovípar.[5]

Alimentació

Menja amfípodes, poliquets i mol·luscs.[6]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 2-15 m de fondària.[3][7]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des de l'Àfrica oriental fins a Fiji, les Illes Ryukyu, Nova Gal·les del Sud (Austràlia) i Tonga.[8][3][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[3]
