The 2008–09 season was MTK Budapest Football Club's 100nd competitive season, 14th consecutive season in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I and 120nd year in existence as a football club. In addition to the domestic league, MTK Budapest participated in this season's editions of the Magyar kupa, Ligakupa, Szuperkupa and UEFA Champions League, entering the competition after 5 years.[3] The season covered the period from 25 July 2008 to 30 May 2009.
