Black Jimmy Pond
Black Jimmy Pond, also known as Hyles Pond, is an 9-acre (36,000 m2)[1]: 106 pond in the Cedarville[citation needed] section of Plymouth, Massachusetts.[2] The pond is located northwest of Hedges Pond[2] and northeast[citation needed] of Little Herring Pond.[2]
In 2021, a 3-year-old toddler went into pond, became unconscious, and then was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital.[3]
Black Jimmy was a counselor at Camp Clark, located on the northern side of Hyles Pond. He was a very personable young man, beloved by the children at the camp. Until one night he killed his wife at the camp. Stricken with regret and fear of being caught, using a picnic table he hung himself on the south side of the pond. His body was found by campers on a nature hike the following day. Since then, many campers have reported seeing the ghost of Black Jimmy's wife in the lodge at Camp Clark.[citation needed]
