The Chery Tiggo 7 is a compact crossover SUV produced by Chery under the Tiggo product series. The first generation was launched in 2016, and a rebadged variant sold by Qoros was planned in 2017 which later became a facelift for the 2018 model year Tiggo 7 dubbed the Tiggo 7 Fly. The first generation Tiggo 7 also underpins the Exeed LX. The second generation model was launched in 2020 and was previewed by a design concept unveiled in 2019.

The first generation Chery Tiggo 7 was originally previewed by the Chery TX SUV Concept during the 2012 Beijing Auto Show,[2][3] the production version was revealed during the 2016 Beijing Auto Show in China. It is codenamed T15.[4]
Engine options available initially includes a 1.5-litre inline-four turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre inline-four petrol engine.
The production Chery Tiggo 7 was later launched on the China car market in July, positioned above the Chery Tiggo 5 compact crossover.[5]
2018 facelift and Qoros Young rebadge
In August 2017, the Qoros Young compact crossover was revealed as a rebadged version of the Chery Tiggo 7. Chery owns half of the Qoros holding while the other half belongs to Singapore-based investment company Kenon Holdings.[6] The Qoros Young never launched on the market, with its design instead reused as the facelifted Chery Tiggo 7 Fly revealed in 2018.
The Tiggo 7 Fly debuted in September 2018. The facelift model continue to use the same powertrain as the pre-facelift model, a 1.5-litre turbo producing 147 horsepower (110 kW; 149 PS) and 210 N⋅m (155 lb⋅ft; 21 kg⋅m). The transmission is a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission or a 6-speed manual gearbox.[7]

The second generation Chery Tiggo 7 debuted as a concept during the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show.[9] Engine options of the second generation Chery Tiggo 7 initially includes a 1.5-litre inline-four turbo petrol engine producing 147 hp, 1.5-litre inline-four turbo petrol engine producing 156 hp and a 1.6-litre inline-four petrol engine producing 197 hp.[10]

Tiggo 7 Plus
Launched in September 2021, the Tiggo 7 Plus is a more premium variant of the regular Tiggo 7, aiming at a slightly higher market segment. Marketed as the Tiggo 7 Pro overseas, the Tiggo 7 Plus features a restyled front bumper and grilles and slightly improved interior. The infotainment system of the Tiggo 7 Plus comes with Baidu CarLife and Apple CarPlay and runs on Chery's Lion 4.0 operating system.[11]
The Tiggo 7 Plus is available with three powertrains including a 1.5-litre turbo engine with 156 hp (116 kW; 158 PS) and 230 N⋅m (170 lb⋅ft; 23 kg⋅m) of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and CVT, a 1.5-litre turbo engine plus 48-volt mild hybrid system with 156 hp (116 kW; 158 PS) and 230 N⋅m (170 lb⋅ft; 23 kg⋅m) of torque, mated to a CVT, and a 1.6-litre turbo engine with 197 hp (147 kW; 200 PS) and 290 N⋅m (214 lb⋅ft; 30 kg⋅m), mated to a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre turbo engine consumes 6.9 L/100 km (34 mpg‑US; 14 km/L) while the 1.5-litre turbo engine with 48-volt mild hybrid system consumes 5.9 L/100 km (40 mpg‑US; 17 km/L). The 1.6-litre turbo engine variant consumes 6.6 L/100 km (36 mpg‑US; 15 km/L).[11]

2023 model year
The Tiggo 7 Plus underwent a facelift in October 2022, initially in China, for the 2023 model year.[12] The facelift features a completely redesigned front end, sharing the same headlight unit as the Tiggo 8 Plus.

Markets
Australia
The Tiggo 7 Pro was introduced in Australia in August 2023,[13] with prices announced in September 2023. It is available in three trim levels: Urban, Elite and Ultimate.[14] All models were powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated with a 7-speed DCT. The Urban and Elite trims were front-wheel drive only, while the Ultimate trim is only available with standard all-wheel drive.
Indonesia
The Tiggo 7 Pro was introduced in Indonesia alongside the Tiggo 5x (originally introduced at the time as the Tiggo 4 Pro) and Tiggo 8 Pro in January 2022.[15] It was launched alongside the Tiggo 8 Pro in 23 November 2022, as Chery's first models to the Indonesian market after a 6-year absence.[16] Sales were commenced in January 2023.[17] It is available in three grade levels: Comfort, Luxury and Premium. All models were powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and front-wheel drive, mated with a CVT transmission.[18] It is locally assembled at Handal Indonesia Motor's facility in Bekasi, West Java.[19]
Italy
The Tiggo 7 Pro is rebadged and sold in Italy by importer DR Automobiles as the DR 6.0. It was launched in 20 April 2022. The 6.0 is offered in a sole variant, powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The same engine is also available with a bi-fuel supply with LPG system as an option, marketed by DR as the Thermohybrid.[20]
Since 2023, the Tiggo 7 Pro was also rebadged and sold by DR under the Sportequipe marque as the Sportequipe 6, which was first revealed at the 2022 Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show in June 2022.[21] Sharing the same engine option with either a petrol or the Thermohybrid bi-fuel (petrol/LPG) setup as the DR 6.0, the Sportequipe 6 features a completely different front end design, derived from the non-Pro/Plus versions of the Chery Tiggo 8.[22]
Mexico
The Tiggo 7 Pro is sold in Mexico as the Chirey Tiggo 7 Pro.[23] It was launched in July 2022, alongside the Tiggo 8 Pro Max.[24] It is available in two trim levels: Comfort and Luxury. Both were powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.[25]
Philippines
The Tiggo 7 Pro was launched in the Philippines in January 2021, as a replacement of the first-generation Tiggo 7 in the lineup. It is initially available with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.[26] The Hybrid variant, powered by the same engine unit with a 48V mild-hybrid system, was added in July 2023.[27]
Russia
The Tiggo 7 Pro was launched in Russia in 10 September 2020. It is available in three grade levels: Luxury, Elite and Prestige. All models were powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.[28]
The Pro Max variant was launched in January 2023. Powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged engine unit as the Pro variant, it is initially available in two grade levels: Prestige and Ultimate.[29] The Elite grade was added in May 2023.[30] In July 2023, the Elite and Ultimate grades received an option of a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with all-wheel drive.[31]
The plug-in hybrid variant, powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol plug-in hybrid (PHEV), was launched alongside the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ in October 2023.[32]
A locally assembled rebadged version of the Tiggo 7 Pro was revealed in 13 March 2024 as the Xcite X-Cross 7. It is produced at AvtoVAZ's facility in Saint Petersburg, which was previously owned by Nissan.[33]
The Pro variant was discontinued in April 2024.[34]
South Africa
The Tiggo 7 Pro was launched in South Africa in May 2022. It is available in two grade levels: Distinction and Executive. Both were powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and front-wheel drive, mated with a CVT transmission.[35]
The Pro Max variant, powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, was launched in October 2023. It is initially available in two grade levels: Distinction and Executive. Both grades were front-wheel drive, with the latter is also available with optional all-wheel drive.[36] The Premium grade, available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, was added in April 2024.[37]
