Biography
Daniel Wassef was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Egyptian parents. He has an older brother named Nabil. He was raised in the Coptic Orthodox faith. He moved to Laval when he was 2 years old in the Fabreville district where he grew up most of his life. Through his evolution during his years in high school from 2010-2019, he attended 3 high schools in Laval which are the following; Odyssee-des-Jeunes, Horizon-Jeunesse and Georges-Vanier. He had a difficult path in high school which still affects him today. As he started high school, he was bullied, harassed and beaten several times by regular students. Yet, still kept his hopes and dreams alive despite his dark path. Though, he was placed in Autism Spectrum Disorder classes (ASDC) during his whole high school years, he yet found himself surrounded by a couple of friends, but majority of the class mostly hated him and his bad behavior towards some students he couldn't stand. Not longer after, in November 2016, he almost took away his own life with a kitchen knife on his throat. He counted to 10 seconds before dropping the knife on the kitchen table giving himself a second chance. About a year later, he earned many certifications and achievements that he never thought he'd earn. That's when he rose to recognition by his pairs from 2017 to 2019. Then, when the COVID-19 got declared pandemic in March 2020, he started playing football in his street while the entire province was confined and ordered to stay home to avoid the spread of the virus. One day on April 8th in 2020, he borrowed his neighbor's basketball hoop where he then recorded himself with his phone kicking his soccer ball backwards in his neighbor's basketball hoop. He eventually got it in. 2 days later, he announced on to his friends and family on the Facebook and Instagram platform that he had the potential of breaking a Guinness World Record for his trick. He contacted Guinness World Record officials to suggest his attempt but turned out he had to pay to get his record mentioned in the book and nothing was guaranteed. Though, he did not give up, he searched a particular record; The most football toe taps in one minute, a common football drill that no one yet achieved, not even a professional football player. He applied for this particular record which stood at 100 toe taps to beat in a minute. He waited about 2 months and 14 days for his application to be approved. Afterwards, on May 16th 2020, he attempted his record on his lawn while being out of practice. He achieved 151 toe taps in a minute. Sooner later, he edited and sent his documentation about his record attempt to Guinness which he waited about 8 months. On January 28, 2021, during the evening, he was looking through his application to see the answer for his approval of his attempt. It got approved. He jumped of joy and told his parents about his glorious moment which he felt very proud of and since that day, he rose to fame in the same year till now and has received many interviews on several news broadcasts, newspapers and viral webpages.
