Eloy Casagrande (born 29 January 1991) is a Brazilian musician, best known as the former drummer of Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. He is also the drummer of Casagrande & Hanysz and is rumored to be the current drummer of Slipknot^[1]

Biography

Casagrande, who replaced Jean Dolabella, joined Sepultura in November 2011,^[2]^[3] and recorded three albums with the band before his departure in February 2024; he is the second youngest member of Sepultura, with his replacement Greyson Nekrutman being 11 years his junior.^[4]^[5] He is also known for his time with power metal singer Andre Matos and post-hardcore/metalcore band Gloria.^[6]

Casagrande began playing at age seven, ^[7]when he got a toy drum from his mother; after a year, he got a real drum kit.^{[citation needed]} In 2004, at age 13, he was the winner of the Batuka International Drummer Fest, sponsored by Vera Figueiredo.^[8]Later, Casagrande also won Modern Drummer's Undiscovered Drummer Contest 2005 ^[9]^[2]^[6] in New Jersey, and the following year, toured the United States.^{[citation needed]}
