Eloy Casagrande (born 29 January 1991) is a Brazilian musician, best known as the former drummer of Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. He is also the drummer of Casagrande & Hanysz and is rumored to be the current drummer of Slipknot[1]

Biography

Casagrande, who replaced Jean Dolabella, joined Sepultura in November 2011,[2][3] and recorded three albums with the band before his departure in February 2024; he is the second youngest member of Sepultura, with his replacement Greyson Nekrutman being 11 years his junior.[4][5] He is also known for his time with power metal singer Andre Matos and post-hardcore/metalcore band Gloria.[6]

Casagrande began playing at age seven, [7]when he got a toy drum from his mother; after a year, he got a real drum kit.[citation needed] In 2004, at age 13, he was the winner of the Batuka International Drummer Fest, sponsored by Vera Figueiredo.[8]Later, Casagrande also won Modern Drummer's Undiscovered Drummer Contest 2005 [9][2][6] in New Jersey, and the following year, toured the United States.[citation needed]
