Early life

[edit]

Emma Elizabeth Myers[1] was born on April 2, 2002, in Orlando, Florida, to Nicole and Jeremy Myers.[2][3] She has three sisters and is the second eldest among them. She attended a homeschool cooperative and, in her own words, "never had a traditional school experience".[4] From her mother's side, she is of Greek ancestry.[5]

Career

[edit]

Myers' first acting role was in 2010 with a minor role in the drama film Letters to God. Later that year, she had a guest role in the A&E drama series The Glades and appeared in the short film Crooked.[6] She started acting professionally at the age of 16.[7] In 2020, Myers had a guest role in the ABC romantic drama series The Baker and the Beauty. This was followed by appearances in the short film Deathless, the Snap Originals series Dead of Night, and the television film A Taste of Christmas, all in the same year. In 2021, she had a supporting role in the television film Girl in the Basement, which starred Stefanie Scott, Judd Nelson, and Joely Fisher and was inspired by the Fritzl kidnapping case.[8][9]

Myers landed her breakthrough role in 2022 when she was cast as Enid Sinclar, a late-blooming werewolf and the roommate of Wednesday Addams in Tim Burton's Netflix series Wednesday, starring alongside Jenna Ortega.[10][11][12] Following this, she starred in the Netflix comedy film Family Switch in 2023 as CC Walker, alongside Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, and Brady Noon.[13][14] She also appeared in the film Southern Gospel that same year.[15]

In 2024, she began starring as the lead character Pippa Fitz-Amobi in the British mystery thriller television series A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, based on the murder mystery novel of the same name.[16] In 2025, she starred as Natalie[17] in the film A Minecraft Movie, based on the video game Minecraft.[18]

Myers is set to voice a character in the animated film The Angry Birds Movie 3, which is set to be released in 2027.[19]

Personal life

[edit]

Myers is a fan of K-pop, especially the group Seventeen.[20] In a 2022 interview with Teen Vogue, it was stated that the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars fan communities were "two fantastical pillars of online fandom that shaped the way she saw the world". Myers describes herself as an introvert.[4][12]

In an interview with the magazine Seventeen, she has expressed that two of her dream roles are Max Caulfield from Life Is Strange and Edith Finch from What Remains of Edith Finch, as the two games being among Myers' favorites.[21] Emma grew up dancing at Shooting Stars School of performing Arts in Clermont, Florida.
