Fampoux (French pronunciation: [fɑ̃pu]) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France.[3]

Geography

A farming village situated 4 miles (6 km) east of Arras, on the D42 road. The A1 autoroute passes by the village about half a mile away.

Notable people

The poet Paul Verlaine spent his holidays here for several years, as his mother's family were from Fampoux. A street and the village school bear his name.
