Politics

The current city council was elected in the October 2018 elections.[3] On that occasion, Pierre Kompany was elected mayor of Ganshoren. He was the first black mayor in Belgium, and is the father of footballer Vincent Kompany.[4] The current mayor is Jean-Paul Van Laethem.[5]
