Hlinaia (Moldovan Cyrillic: Хлиная, Russian: Глиное, romanized: Glinoye, Ukrainian: Глинне, romanized: Glinne) is a village in the Grigoriopol sub-district of Transnistria, Moldova.[1] The town of Hlinaia was founded in 1809[2] by German Evangelical emigrants under the name of Glückstal. It has since 1990 been administered as a part of the breakaway Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Notes

  1. ^ Transnistria's political status is disputed. It considers itself to be an independent state, but this is not recognised by any UN member state. The Moldovan government and the international community consider Transnistria a part of Moldova's territory.
