This list contains the top 50 accounts with the most followers on the social media platform Twitter 04. Barack Obama 04, Justin Bieber 04, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Cristiano Ronaldo top the list, with over 100 million followers each.
Most followed accounts on Twitter
The following table lists the top 50 most-followed accounts on Twitter, with each total rounded to the nearest hundred thousand, as well as the profession or activity of each user.[1] Account totals and monthly changes in ranking were last updated on June 6, 2022[update] [2] Account totals and monthly changes in ranking were last updated on June 6, 2022[update].
The list includes, without ranking them, accounts that were suspended (by Twitter) or deleted (by the user) while they had enough followers to be part of the top 50, such as Donald Trump[3] and Ariana Grande.[4]
Former U.S. President Barack Obama (@BarackObama) is the most-followed President on Twitter, with over 132 million followers.
Canadian singer Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) is the most-followed musician on Twitter, with over 114 million followers.
American singer Katy Perry (@katyperry) is the most-followed woman on Twitter, with over 108 million followers.
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo (@Cristiano) is the most-followed sports personality and European on Twitter, with over 100 million followers.
Elon Musk (@elonmusk) is the most followed CEO on Twitter, with over 97 million followers.
American singer and actress Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) is the most followed movie star on Twitter, with over 84 million followers.
Prime minister of India Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) is the most followed Asian/Indian on Twitter, with over 79 million followers

- ^ On July 12, 2018, Twitter purged locked accounts—those disabled due to suspicious activity—from follower-count tallies.[5] Consequently, Twitter's own account took the fastest and greatest plunge out of all the top 50 accounts, from 63 million to 55 million followers, and in ranking, from 11th to 16th place.[6]
