The List of speakers of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly is a chronological index of individuals who have held the office of Speaker in the legislative body of the Indian state of Gujarat since its formation in 1960. As the presiding officer of the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, the Speaker is elected by Assembly members and oversees proceedings, enforces rules, and represents the institution. The first Speaker was Kalyanji V. Mehta (May–August 1960), and the role has since been held by members across parties, including several acting Speakers during interregnums. The current Speaker is Shankar Chaudhary, who assumed office on 20 December 2022 during the Fifteenth Assembly. The list provides insight into the legislative history and political transitions within Gujarat’s parliamentary structure.
