Marhemetabad District (Persian: بخش مرحمتآباد) is a former administrative division of Miandoab County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital was the city of Chahar Borj.[3]
History
In July 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Chaharborj County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Chahar Borj as its capital and only city.[4]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the district's population was 23,700 in 5,718 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 25,814 people in 7,135 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 26,219 inhabitants in 7,797 households.[2]
