Norwegian politician

Solveig Schytz (born 19 February 1976) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party.

She served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Akershus during the terms 2013–2017, 2017–2021 and 2021–2025. When Abid Raja took a cabinet seat in 2020, Schytz became a regular member of Parliament. Her membership was rescinded when Solberg's Cabinet fell in 2021 and Raja returned to Parliament.[1]

Hailing from Molde, she has been an elected member of Ås municipal council and Akershus county council.

In 2021, Solveig Schytz proposed the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) for the Nobel Peace Prize.[2] Solveig Schytz is a scouting volunteer.

Following the 2023 Norwegian local elections, the Liberal Party managed to form a county cabinet together with its coalition partners, led by Anette Solli. The county cabinet would preside over Akershus County Municipality, following the dissolution of Viken on 1 January 2024. Schytz was selected as county commissioner of planning, cultural artefacts, climate and the environment.[3]
