PredecessorSony α6600

The Sony α6700 (model ILCE-6700) is a mirrorless APS-C format digital camera produced by Sony, succeeding the a6600. Unveiled on July 12, 2023,[1] it introduces a new 26MP Exmor sensor,[2] Real-time Recognition AF[3] and 4K video at 120 frames per second, incorporating 759 phase detection autofocus points. Driven by the BIONZ XR image processor, it provides an ISO range from 50 to 102,400. Additionally, the α6700 is capable of capturing images at a maximum rate of 11 frames per second, maintaining continuous autofocus and exposure tracking.[4]

Features

The camera features several advancements from its predecessor the Sony α6600, also incorporating some features from the higher-end Sony α7 IV.

Video formats

The camera is using in-house developed AVC Video Format called XAVC. The format is a compressed format achieving balanced quality and file size. Recording in colour depth of 10-bits and 4:2:2 chroma subsampling is possible with the XAVC codec.

Lens compatibility

Sony E-mount APS-C (E) lenses are compatible with the α6700.[2]
