Stačilo!

Political party in Czech Republic

Stačilo! (lit.'Enough!') is a left-wing political coalition in the Czech Republic, announced on 4 December 2023 by Kateřina Konečná, leader of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM). The coalition consists of KSČM, United Democrats - Association of Independents, Czech National Social Party and independent individuals.[1]

History

The Communists announced their intention to found a broad political alliance for the 2024 European Parliament elections in the November of 2023, with rest of the coalition members to be announced later in December.[2]

KSČM leader Kateřina Konečná announced the coalition on 4 December 2023, stating that it had been initiated by KSČM "with the aim of uniting left-wing and patriotic parties and movements that are not indifferent to the position of the Czech Republic in the European Union, the practice of censorship, the waste of money on weapons or ineffective social policies leading to appalling differences in the minimum wage within the EU".[3] At that time, the coalition was announced with KSČM and SD-SN as founding members; Konečná was chosen as frontrunner of the Communists as well as the electoral list as a whole. Former healthcare adviser to the Czech Pirate Party and lawyer Ondřej Dostál will be the lead candidate of the United Democrats.[4]

In the March of 2024, Czech National Social Party announced that it will join the coalition ranks, citing the need to “strengthen the nationalistic and social politics”. [5] ČSNS is lead on the list by its chairman Michal Klusáček.[6]

The coalition announced that it would participate in the European Parliament election in June 2024.[1][7]
