Visitors to Togo must obtain an electronic visa,[1] unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries. Alternatively, they may obtain a visa from one of the Togolese diplomatic missions.[2]

Visa exemption

Citizens of the following countries can visit Togo without a visa:[3][4]

  • 30 April 1980: ECOWAS[5] (Economic Community of West African States): Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone
  • 21 July 2022: Morocco[6]

Visa exemption also applies to holders of diplomatic and service passports of China (including passports for public affairs), Morocco, Russia.

Visa exemption agreements for all passports were signed with Central African Republic on 29 July 2018[7] and Saint Kitts and Nevis on 24 March 2019[8] and are yet to enter into force.

A visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and service passports was signed with Qatar on 30 April 2018.[9]

A visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and service passports was signed with Serbia on 16 January 2023. [10] [11]
