Wiedeville is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Texas, United States.[1] It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area.

History

Wiedes Store was the previous name for Wiedeville. It was at its prime from the 1880s to the early 1900s before experiencing a decline during the Great Depression. The majority of the population has been German-American. The Immanuel Lutheran Church serves as the hub of the community. Although there were no available population statistics in 2004, Wiedeville was still recognized as a community.[2]

Geography

Wiedeville is located one mile from Farm to Market Road 50 and 5 mi (8.0 km) northeast of Brenham in central Washington County.[2] It is also on Farm to Market Road 66.[3]

Education

Today, the community is served by the Brenham Independent School District.
