William "Billy" Ray adalah seorang penulis latar dan sutradara Amerika. Ia mulai menulis untuk televisi dan film pada 1994 dengan Color of Night.[1] Ia telah menulis sejumlah film termasuk Volcano[2] dan Hart's War.[3] Ia adalah salah satu pembuat dan penulis acara fiksi ilmiah Earth 2. Pada 10 Agustus 2015, media mengumumkan bahwa ia akan menulis permainan latar yang Martin Scorsese akan menyutradarai sebuah adaptasi dari The Devil in the White City, yang akan dibintangi oleh Leonardo DiCaprio.[4]
