Penghargaan Sastra Internasional Dublin atau The International DUBLIN Literary Award (bahasa Irlandia: Duais Liteartha Idirnáisiúnta Bhaile Átha Chliath) adalah penghargaan kesusastraan internasional yang diselenggarakan setiap tahun bagi para pengarang novel berbahasa Inggris atau novel terjemahan bahasa Inggris. Tujuan penghargaan tersebut antara lain untuk mempromosikan karya-karya sastra dunia yang disponsori oleh Kota Dublin, Irlandia. Uang sebesar €100,000, merupakan hadiah terbesar dalam daftar penerima penghargaan. Jika pemenang buku merupakan terjemahann (sudah sembilan kali), hadiah dibagi antara penulis dan penerjemah, di mana penulis menerima €75,000 dan penerjemah menerima €25,000.[1]

Nominator diusulkan oleh perpustakaan umum seluruh dunia – lebih dari 400 sistem perpustakaan di 177 seluruh dunia diundang untuk mengusulkan buku unggulan setiap tahun – di mana penentuan daftar pendek pemenang diseleksi oleh panel juri internasional (yang dipilih setiap tahun). Kelayakan dan prosedur

Kualifikasi

Penghargaan ini terbuka untuk novel-novel yang ditulis di berbagai bahasa dan pengarang seluruh dunia, asalkan karya-karya tersebut berbahasa Inggris atau telah diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Inggris. Presentasi penghargaan tersebut diposkan dua tahun dari tanggal publikasi. Sehingga untuk memenangi penghargaan pada tahun 2007, misalnya, harus sudah terbit pada tahun 2005. Jika merupakan terjemahan bahasa Inggris, karya tersebut harus harus dipublikasikan dengan bahasa aslinya pada kalender tahun yang sama.[3]

Proses

Perpustakaan Umum Kota Dublin mencari nominator dari dari perpustakaan umum kota-kota besar seluruh dunia. Daftar panjang diumumkan pada bulan Oktober atau November setiap tahun, dan daftar pendek (lebih dari sepuluh judul) diumumkan pada bulan Maret atau April tahun berikutnya. Daftar panjang dan daftar pendek dipilih oleh panel juri internasional yang digilir setiap tahun. Allen Weinstein merupakan ketua panel non-voting sejak 1996 sampai dengan 2003. Eugene R. Sejarah

Penghargaan ini diselenggarakan sejak tahun 1994[4] dengan nama "International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award", bekerja sama dengan Kota Dublind dan IMPAC asal Amerika Serikat, yang kantor pusat di Eropa bertempat di Dublin.
