Larry Gonick

Larry Gonick (lahir 1946) adalah kartunis warga Amerika Serikat yang terkenal akan karyanya Kartun Riwayat Peradaban, suatu buku mengenai sejarah dunia dalam bentuk buku komik. Karya ini diterbitkan berkala dari tahun 1977 hingga 2009. Ia juga menulis Kartun Sejarah Amerika Serikat, dan dia telah mengadaptasi format untuk serial buku panduan yang ditulis bersama untuk mata pelajaran lainnya, dimulai dengan Kartun Panduan untuk Genetika pada tahun 1983. Minatnya yang beraneka ragam, dan kesuksesan bukunya, telah menempatkan Gonick dalam posisi terhormat sebagai "kartunis yang paling terkenal dan paling dihormati, yang menuangkan keterampilannya untuk mengungkapkan misteri ilmu pengetahuan."^[1]

Kehidupan awal

Gonick lahir pada 19 Juli, 1946, di San Francisco, California. Ia belajar matematika di Universitas Harvard, lulus pada tahun 1967. Dia segera melanjutkan pendidikannya dengan mengambil gelar master dalam matematika, juga di Harvard.
