Grammy Award untuk Video Musik Terbaik adalah penghargaan disajikan di Grammy Awards, sebuah upacara yang didirikan pada tahun 1958 dan awalnya disebut Gramophone Awards,[1] untuk pemain, sutradara, dan produser video musik berkualitas bentuk pendek. Penghormatan dalam beberapa kategori disajikan pada upacara setiap tahun oleh National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences dari Amerika Serikat untuk "menghormati prestasi artistik, kemampuan teknis dan keunggulan keseluruhan dalam industri rekaman, tanpa memperhatikan penjualan album atau posisi tangga lagu".

Awalnya disebut Grammy Award untuk Video Terbaik, Bentuk Pendek, penghargaan tersebut pertama kali dipersebahkan pada tahun 1984, bersamaan dengan Video Musik Bentuk Panjang Terbaik. Dari 1986 sampai 1997, nama kategori tersebut diubah menjadi Video Musik Terbaik, Bentuk Pendek. Namun, pada 1988 dan 1989, kriteria penghargaan tersebut diubah dan dipersembahkan di bawa kategori Video Musik Konsep Terbaik dan Video Musik Penampilan Terbaik. Penghargaan ters3but kembali ke format aslinya pada 1990. Kategori tersebut disebut Video Musik Bentuk Pendek Terbaik sampai 2014, saat namanya diperpendek menjadi Video Musik Terbaik. Para penerima penghargaan meliputi pementas, sutradara, dan produser terkait dengan video yang menang tersebut.

Johnny Cash, Peter Gabriel, Janet Jackson, dan Michael Jackson memegang rekor kemenangan terbanyak sebagainpementas daam kategori tersebut, degvan masing-masing dua (Michael juga merupakan anggota supergroup USA for Africa dan sangat terlibat dalam proyek "We Are the World").[2] Mark Romanek memegang rekor kemenangan terbanyak sebagai sutradara, dengan total tiga. Penyanyi Islandia Björk memegang rekor untuk nominasi terbanyak sebagai pementas tanpa kemenangan dengan jumlah empat.
