William Whewell

William Whewell

William Whewell (24 Mei 1794 – 6 Maret 1866) adalah seorang polimatik, imam Anglikan, filsuf, teolog dan sejarawan sains asal Inggris. Ia mempengaruhi ilmuwan-ilmuwan lainnya pada masanya: John Herschel, Charles Darwin[1], Charles Lyell dan Michael Faraday. Ia menciptakan banyak istilah yang masih digunakan hingga saat ini, seperti ilmuwan (pada 1837).
