ジェームズ・バーナム

ジェームズ・バーナム（James Burnham、1905年11月22日–1987年7月28日）は、アメリカ合衆国の哲学者、政治思想家。

シカゴ生まれ。プリンストン大学およびオックスフォード大学ベリオールカレッジで学ぶ。1930年代に共産主義、なかでもトロツキー主義に傾注し、社会主義労働者党（Socialist Workers Party: SWP）に参加していたが、党内路線をめぐる対立の結果、1940年離党し、アメリカ労働者党に参加するとともに、次第に反ソ・反共主義へと転じていった。第二次世界大戦中は戦略情報局に勤務し、戦後、雑誌『ナショナル・レビュー』などを舞台に対ソ強硬論を展開した。日本では株主資本主義を批判するその経営者革命論が大塚万丈の修正資本主義に大きな影響を与えた。
