デヴィッド・ロルフ・グレーバー（英: David Rolfe Graeber、1961年2月12日 - 2020年9月2日^[1]）は、アメリカの人類学者、 アナキスト・アクティヴィスト。 ロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクスの人類学の教授を務めた^[2] 。妻がおり、グレーバーの死去を伝えたのも妻である^[3]。

『負債論──貨幣と暴力の5000年』、『官僚制のユートピア──テクノロジー、構造的愚かさ、リベラリズムの鉄則』、『ブルシット・ジョブ──クソどうでもいい仕事の理論』などの著作で知られる。

生涯

1998年から2007年までイェール大学で人類学の助教および准教授として、 価値の理論や社会理論の研究に従事する。 在職期間中にイェール大学が契約を更新しないと決定した際には、学術界で論争が起こった。2007年から2013年まではロンドン大学ゴールドスミス・カレッジで社会人類学を教えた。

2001年にはケベック・シティーの第3回米州首脳会議で、2002年にはニューヨークの世界経済フォーラムで抗議運動に加わる。2011年のウォール街を占拠せよ運動では指導的な役割を果たし、「私たちは99％だ（We are the 99%）」 のスローガンを考案したとされるが^[4]、 グレーバー自身は「99％」の部分を考えただけで、他の人間がそれをスローガンに発展させたと述べている^[5]。

2020年9月2日、イタリア・ヴェネツィアの病院で死去。享年59^[6]。グレーバーの最後の著書である『The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity』は、デビッド・ウェングローブとの共著で、2021年秋に出版される予定^[7]。
