Doktrin ketenteraan

Doktrin ketenteraan adalah ekspresi bagaimana angkatan tentera menyumbang kepada kempen, operasi besar, pertempuran, dan pertembungan tentera.

Ia adalah panduan untuk bertindak, bukannya peraturan yang keras dan cepat. Doktrin menyediakan kerangka acuan yang sama pada seluruh pasukan tentera. Ia membantu menyeragamkan operasi, memudahkan kesediaan dengan mewujudkan cara yang biasa untuk menyelesaikan tugasan tentera.

Doktrin menghubungkan teori, sejarah, eksperimen, dan amalan.[1] Objektifnya ialah memupuk inisiatif dan pemikiran kreatif. Doktrin menyediakan pihak tentera dengan sebuah badan pernyataan yang berwibawa tentang bagaimana angkatan tentera menjalankan operasi dan menyediakan kamus umum untuk digunakan oleh para perancang dan pemimpin tentera.
