Cry, the Beloved Country (sh. Plači, voljena zemljo) je britanski crno-bijeli film snimljen 1951. u režiji Zoltana Korde, poznat kao jedno od prvih ostvarenja koje se bavilo problemom rasne nejednakosti u tadašnjoj Južnoj Africi. Temelji se na istoimenom romanu južnoafričkog pisca i aktivista Alana Patona koji je također ko-producirao film i sudjelovao na pisanju scenarija. Protagonist, čiji lik tumači crni američki glumac Canada Lee, je crni anglikanski svećenik koji iz rodnog sela odlazi u Johanessburg pronaći sestru i sina, otkrivši da su se odali alkoholu i kriminalu, odnosno da mu je sin optužen za ubistvo bijelog inženjera, čiji je otac bogati farmer (koga tumači Charles Carson). Cry, the Beloved Country je bio sniman na lokacijama u Južnoj Africi, gdje je nedugo prije toga bio uveden strogi režim apartheida, pa je tako Leeju i crnom bahamskom glumcu Sidneyu Poitieru (koji tumači lik Kumalovog kolege i prijatelja) bilo zabranjeno da noći u istom hotelu kao i Korda; režiser je tu zabranu "zaobišao" tako što je južnoafričkim vlastima lažno tvrdio da Lee i Poitier nisu profesionalni glumci, nego njegovi lični sluge. Cry, the Beloved Country je zbog svoje društvene i političke angažiranosti, ali i duboko humane poruke o nužnosti prevladavanja razlika među ljudima, duboko imponirao tadašnjoj kritici te bio nominiran za niz prestižnih nagrada. Poitier je zahvaljujući njemu postao poznat te će sljedećih decenija postati jedna od prvih hollywoodskih crnih zvijezda.
