Katepsin B (EC 3.4.22.1, katepsin B1, katepsin II) je enzim.[1][2][3][4][5] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju

Hidroliza proteina sa širokom specifičšću za peptidne veze. Preferentno dolazi do razlaganja -Arg-Arg- veza u malim molekulskim supstratima (po čeme se razlikuje od katepsina L).

Ovaj intraćelijski (lizozomalni) enzim pripada peptidaznoj familiji C1 (papainskoj familiji)
