The Heiress (sh. Nasljednica) je američki crno-bijeli film snimljen 1949. u režiji Williama Wylera. Po žanru je drama i predstavlja adaptaciju istoimenog kazališnog komada Ruth i Augustusa Goetza, koji je, pak, temeljen na romanu Washington Square Henryja Jamesa. Radnja je smještena u New York 1850-ih, a nalsovna protagonistica, čiji lik tumači Olivia de Havilland, je Catherine Sloper, stidljiva i neugledna uglednog ljekara (čiji lik tumači Ralph Richardson, a čiju svakodnevnicu poremeti udvaranje mladog i šarmantnog Morrisa Townsenda (koga tumači Montgomery Clift).

The Heiress je nastao nakon što je de Havilland pogledala predstavu na Broadwayu, te predložila Wyleru da po njoj snime film. Projekt je odobrio studio Paramount Pictures, pri čemu su za pisanje scenarija angažirani autori originalne drame. Oni su Townsendov lik učinili manjim negativcem nego u izvorniku, prije svega zato kako ne bi dali negativni imidž Cliftu, koji je predstavljao Paramountovu mladu zvijezdu u usponu.
