Talang Ubi is a town or Sub-district in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency, of South Sumatra province of Indonesia and it is the seat (capital) of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency.

Talang Ubi is known as an oil and coal mining area. Before Talang Ubi sub-district was formerly in the Talang Akar area, in Talang Ubi District there were several large companies engaged in mining, forestry and plantations. For mining there are several examples such as petroleum and coal.[1]
